Grade 3

During Week 3 of Term 2 the grade 3 classes experienced the First Aid in Schools Program delivered by St John Ambulance. Professional trainers taught students the importance of First Aid and what to do in an event of an emergency. Emphasis was on how to recognise someone who is unconscious, making sure the students are able to maintain a clear airway and are able to place the person in a recovery position. The DRSABCD steps were clearly explained through an interactive presentation which all students happily participated in.

3A and 3B students have started this term with many shared learning experiences between the grades. The students are enjoying their rotational numeracy activities afternoon which is on every Monday. They also had the opportunity to use google maps with partners to label Australian states, territories and regional centres. It has been an exciting introduction to the term for the students to collaborate and celebrate their learning through these sessions.

Textiles Club

Students who are a part of the Textiles club have been busy with their projects this term. The students commenced the class by completing their very own pencil toppers to happily use in their writing sessions in class. Their second project was a personal, handmade bookmark with many different design options. Finally, the students had the opportunity to create a scented pillow as a gift for their very special mothers for Mother’s Day. The students are continuing to enjoy peaceful environment sewing in our textiles classes.

Grade 4

Grade 4B

4B works hard throughout the week to earn a learning experience of their choice on a Friday. This week they chose a cooking experience and we made mini pizzas. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed the pizzas. :)

Grade 5 News

I love it here at Dallas campus! We have about 4 excursions a year. I love it! This year we have sports/athletics carnival. I’m doing very hard ones. Our maths is not too hard, not too easy but some of them are very hard and I have the best teacher in the world. She is kind and she isn’t strict. She always helps me with my maths and if I don’t know a question, she teaches me the simplest strategies. I love the teachers especially the music teacher. Dallas is really Children Haven Paradise!
